Since I've been working on old scrapbooks (ones before Jared was born), he's been feeling like there aren't enough pictures of him...so I started showing him ones from my phone. That's what sparked this post.
Jared likes to be independent. One day he decided he'd get a box of cereal down himself.
Um...we get lots of natural light. :) Also, Jared really likes puzzles and that makes me so, so very happy.
The kid puts the most hilarious ensembles together. Also, how is this my four-year old? He looks way too long!
Another hilarious ensemble...this day he had to wear everything red. This was a day a few weeks into summer. He had been acting really naughty and I finally figured out that he just needed some time with me. I left the vacuum (cord in background) and sat down to build with him. Actually, I just sat there and talked to him and listened while he played with his tools. I realized that we hadn't had much of that kind of time since the boys had been spending nearly every waking minute together. The realization has made summer go so much better since.
Jared tried so hard to be brave this time at the dentist. When he was two, it was no big deal. Last year, he panicked! Since then, we've been working hard to be okay. I was so proud of him for trying to be brave this time.
Jared only has a few things that he really likes to eat. One of those things is peanuts. When he saw the big bucket of peanuts at Alan's Texas Roadhouse Father's Day meal, he was pretty excited.
One morning I came out to see the boys eating cereal at the table. They are getting so big! Jared gives me the funniest faces sometimes. :)
The boys desperately wanted to make homemade lemonade so we decided to try it out. Jared was very serious about getting all the juice out of the lemons.
Then the silly side wins and it just gets out of control...as in he grabs the phone and sticks his face right in it.
Jared loves to create...with Legos, blocks, playdough, markers, etc. I saw a package of window markers in the clearance section for a quarter. I decided that he was old enough to understand coloring on the window and not on walls or other things. I was happily correct. He had so much fun filling up all the windows!
This one is from preschool graduation. He brought me the beads and told me I could wear them to look "super pretty."
Another crazy outfit...gloves, winter hat, and swim apparel including floaties that he hasn't worn for two years. :)
I came in to check on him in the bathtub and he was in this pose. He told me he was just relaxing.
Now, when I said he loves to create, I should probably add, that it's still really a messy process most of the time. But, I love to see his mind at work. When the playdough starts to get old, I let him mix them. This particular day he built some major car creation. I should have recorded his explanation of it because I can't remember it all. There were places for the good cars, the bad cars, etc. It was quite elaborate.
Tons of snuggles! :)
More creating! Kinetic sand is fantastic stuff!
More ensembles...Aunt Elaine was kind enough to let him wear her headband!
