How did I live without it?
As Ethan entered the mobile phase of life, sleeping became a whole new adventure. It's never been particularly easy, but his mobility meant cute chubby legs stuck in the bars of the crib, pacifiers being thrown across the room, etc. Any time we went in to help him, he only got MAD that we weren't there to take him out of the crib. I started to really struggle with his fussy noises--imagining horrible scenarios in which I should quickly run to his aid. However, as I mentioned before, that only caused more problems. We decided something had to be done about it. We researched video baby monitors, etc, and eventually chose a night vision security camera. It works wonders! :) I have discovered a whole new wealth of knowledge about my child. For instance, I used to think he didn't sleep on his stomach--WAY OFF. I can now say with a surety that he usually does sleep with his bum sticking right up in the air. :) Also, I was deluded in my ideas of how long he napped. The other day I watched for an hour as he (silently) rolled, crawled and played for an hour before going to sleep. So much for those 2-hour naps! :) Most importantly, it's helped us continue some good sleeping behavior which makes everyone in the house happier. I now wonder how I functioned before this miraculous contraption made it into our home.

that is seriously awesome. i am so investing in that when we have babies. :)
Wow.
That brings spying on your kids to a whole new level! ;)
And REALLY interesting to find out the details of naptime. :)
I hope you saved some still images of the "bum in the air" for blackmail when he's a teenager...
Hey I have one too!!! I bought mine in Feb. (Summer brand) and LOVE it!!! I also don't know how I functioned without it!!! We bought ours b/c like you said, Reagan played so quietly I never knew if she was asleep but every time I would go check on her if she was asleep I would wake her up! I seriously, seriously think this night vision camera thing is the greatest thing ever and would recommend it to anyone who has a baby. And it is so precious to watch them, some times i wish it had a record button!
Wow, that is so high tech! I bet it's fun to watch him on the monitor. :)

It's totally worth it. We've wanted one for a while and finally found the one we want on sale! I'm so glad they make these!
That's way fun! When I get Dallin after his nap, he always has his head facing the opposite way of how I put him down. I've always wondered how he does it. I guess that would be a way to find out :)
