Probably my favorite place of the trip was Hamilton Pool. It was so beautiful (and despite a few catfish, a great place to swim/float around in).
I had to stand in the waterfall and we spent a lot of time having "Geronimo" go through our heads...through the curtains of the waterfall!
Another water stop was riding the water bikes. A little pricey for the time, maybe, but very fun and super easy. (I was worried about falling off into gross water, but there was no way that would have happened.)
Our last water stop was Deep Eddy Pool. I thought it was more natural...it is filled by a natural spring, but it is a concrete swimming pool. (It is really cold though due to the spring water!)
Our first stop of the trip, along the drive to Austin was the Blue Bell Factory for a scoop of ice cream for $1. :) It was also our first experiment with the selfie stick...
...it wasn't the last! :)
We got pretty good. :) Oh, and Torchy's Tacos are good. ;)
In Austin, we visited the graffiti park which was really cool (except that a painter threw a gallon of white paint at a wall and paint spattered all over Jen and some on Katie). Katie was super brave/crazy ;) and walked out on this wall and I tried hard not to watch because it made me nervous, but I turned around and thought it made a great picture.
If only we'd have brought spray paint!
VooDoo Donuts are also delicious, but mostly only on day 1. I wanted to try a few...these aren't all mine...but the ones I left for day 2 had dried out.
I think the Capital building is always worth a walk. :)
Hopdoddy burgers were my favorite non-dessert food of the trip...so good! And, they're coming to Houston soon! :)
Katie said this was our album cover photo...a kid who took his picture before us used this pose, and we thought it was hilarious, so we did it too. :)
This is where I bought my souvenir...and where the store employee serenaded us...loudly. :)
Lick ice cream wasn't my favorite...nor was the fact that we didn't get to wash our hair after Hamilton Pool because the water was out at our place due to some nearby construction. Oh well...pictures still must be taken.
Another favorite part of the trip was the bat-watching cruise. Way better than sitting on the sidewalk and not very expensive!
See the people up on Congress bridge? That was me last time...I prefer the boats! :)
So many bats!
And a beautiful sunset!
Shake Shack is always tasty, but would have been better if we hadn't had Hopdoddy the night before.
Gordough's yummy donuts made for a tasty lunch...I know they look messy, but really...so good.
We stopped in to a Korean/French bakery...interesting combo and I had my first macaron! It was definitely tasty.
There is a restaurant outside of Austin on Lake Travis called Oasis. So very pretty! So very busy!
But can you blame them? This view is fantastic! We waited over an hour and so spent sunset walking around taking beautiful pictures. By the time we ate, it was dark, but at least it had cooled off. The food was okay, but the view was phenomenal!
On the last night, instead of getting sleep, we played around with hair and these beautiful ladies taught me how to use my curling wand...so grateful! :)
I seriously cannot say how much I love these ladies! Life isn't always easy...in fact sometimes it's pretty crappy...but having people like this to go through it with makes it all okay.
