January is all about new beginnings and part of that meant that I went around cleaning out all the drawers during the first week. I love organization!
Meanwhile, despite the cold (for us) days, the boys enjoyed the swing set as long as they could stand it!
I don't know why, exactly, but one morning I was feeling particularly sentimental and took a picture of the top of my dresser. This is really the only place in my house that I have tchotchkes. They all have special meanings though.
Jared learned about New Years' at school and kept us celebrating for weeks.
Ethan is very specific about making his bed each morning and I love it! :) It's no where near how I would make it, but I love that he cares and he does it.
We were given a box of Hot Wheels Tracks and the boys were in heaven!
When I got out old scrapbooking supplies to finish an old book, Jared was happy to use the extra things and make his own book.
One Saturday we enjoyed a particularly fun family outing ending with yummy food. It did not end in great photos. :)
more cold weather swinging
Jared was "grounded" for a couple hours one afternoon. This is what his room looked like at the end. Who was really punished here? Alan gave out the punishment, but I had to supervise the cleanup. It was so very, very slow and painful!
My boys love to take a turn taking pictures. I am grateful for cheap old cameras!
Sometimes they ask for a picture though. :)
This is one of my favorite things these days. Alan reads a fable each night (mostly) from this book they got for Christmas. I love the life lessons discussed!
So many terrible pictures this month, but that's what I have and it's what is real right now. :) I do love when we get a chance to calm down and sit together. I think we were about to watch a movie here and they were really excited.
From gloves and coats to shorts and t-shirts...that's January in Texas!
One day Jared was being such a punk and then we found out why. Around 4:00 he went to his room, got in his bed, and fell asleep. Why does it always come down to sleep?
Back to coats!
Sometimes I just love the time that Jared and I spend together before Ethan gets home. Honestly, it's often boring...that's why there are lots of pictures...but I know that it will be gone soon and he will be gone most of the day as well. Sometimes I am sad about that.
He made me a flower, but didn't want a picture. ;)
I had to take this one through the red netting of the castle roof. The boys were doing a Yu-Gi-Oh! dual in the castle. I love that they like to do this together because I really don't like to participate!
While dropping Jared off at school, I saw his resolution. :)
Jared and I tried our hand at this learn-to-draw book. I was pleasantly surprised!
See my cow! :)
The boys hoisted preschool chairs up to the clubhouse and were watching over the fence as the neighbors train their dog.
More Hot Wheels!
