Check it Off the List

My title may seem to suggest that we didn't have fun.  We did, but we're not beach bums...that's for sure.  When we made our list of things to do this summer, the boys were very excited to add go to the beach and make a sandcastle.  We did that today.  :)

 Galveston isn't the most beautiful beach, but it's close, so that's where we were.

 After wandering around and checking things out, they got busy on the sand castle building.  First, they had to mix water with the sand to get the proper consistency.  They were so into it...I loved watching!  :)

 While they worked, I wrote a note in the sand.  :)

 They made towers and walls.

 They dug and filled a moat.

 They were not interested in pictures.  :)

 Jared started to get tired and lay down on the towel.

Proof I was there and that I'm not a beach person...instead of trying to get sun, I cover myself with a towel.  I don't really know how careful to be.  After having to have a melanoma removed from my leg, I'm terribly paranoid.

 We had Red Lobster for lunch.  I was craving shrimp after being at the beach.  :)

 After some well-deserved baths at home, we went out for frozen yogurt after dinner.  Yum!  It was a pretty nice day!
