O, Christmas Tree

We happened to have the stars align this year that we ended up at Costco with Aunt Linda driving her truck.  It was so nice of her to haul our tree home for us.  I was so excited to try a real tree.  I've been wanting to for years!  It smelled soooooo good!  :)
I quickly realized we didn't have any lights but decided to just use an extra strand of our outside lights, that the tree was way too big for our small tree skirt, etc.  It's amazing how different everything seemed, but we just went with it.
Sadly I didn't get out the real camera and it was late so the lighting is bad and the phone camera just couldn't handle it, so lots of blurriness is what we get.

Look at how beautiful the thing is!

By morning, the tree was looking pretty crooked.
Even though we did adjust it and tried to get it right, it looked like this a few days later.
Alan went to work on it again.  We cut over a foot off so that it would be lighter and he tried again to get the cut very straight.
I redecorated it, and it looked nice for a day, but soon it was tipping again.  I tied it a window and to the fireplace grate.  (Sheesh!)  Happily, the strings held it and it stayed that way for a bit.

Then, with probably only a week left, Alan worked on it again and it stood up really nicely all on its own.  :)  I didn't take any more pictures, I guess, but here it is in our little caroling video that Alan wanted to make to share his new hobby of playing the piano.  And now I'm seeing that the video is cropped and you can't see much of it anyway.  Oh well!  What an adventure it has been!
