Jared completed his Summer Reading Log from Barnes & Noble and got to pick out a free book. Such a fun (and easy) program!
The boys have been having fun actually playing with the toys that we hardly had time to use during the school year.
I don't remember why, but he asked for a picture. Always...yes!
Taking the boys to Michaels only happens when I'm really desperate, but I love using a 40 or 50% off coupon on puzzles. This particular day, it was worth it to go get a new one.
Isn't this such a pretty puzzle? I just wish I could jump into it. :)
We took the boys to Cars 3 and I had to snap this picture while they were in the bathroom. I can't even tell you how much I love when Alan comes with us and I don't have to deal with the fact that I am a woman and I have boys who are too old to go in the women's restroom, but I don't always love sending them in the men's. As they are getting older, it's not such a big deal, but it has been hard for a few years, and I am always grateful when Alan is out with us.
Summer reading this year has been a bit magical. Jared is old enough now to really read and so we can read for a good long time. I made a commitment to sit and read my own book while they read and it has been the very best thing ever!
Since taking them both to the grocery store results in a longer process, and inevitably more impulse purchasing, we decided to try grocery pickup. We took this picture to document the event. We did go in and pick up The Lego Batman Movie though. ;)
The library visits are getting really good too!
They take their books around and sit and read while I take time to look for my own things! :)
Re-arranging rooms sometimes means piling mattresses...we currently have a Prince and the Pea situation going on...actually, no one sleeps on this tower. They wanted to share a room for the summer, so we moved both twin beds into one room. That left two queen beds that weren't being used to be in the other room...hence this situation.
Ethan was at a friend's house, so Jared and I went on a little date.
I went to a kids' production of The Sound of Music with my friend and her cute daughter to watch my other friend's cute daughters perform. :)
