Melanie and Ryan got to come visit for a weekend and we couldn't help but go be a part of that. It had been too long. Jared was even a little hesitant at first to show love, but gave plenty of his own variety of rowdy affection afterward. :)
It was a truly beautiful weekend. The weather was just about perfect. It was cool in the evenings and Dad built us fires both nights to keep us nice and warm on the deck.
Ethan loved getting to eat a quesadilla by the fire.
We pulled the swing up close to the fire but then we had to have smoke wafting wars. :) Can you see all the flailing limbs?
Our Valentine's meal was super yummy...actually all the food of the weekend was super yummy.
Jared was in character for this picture and wouldn't stop fighting the "bad guy" (Aunt Melanie) in this particular game to smile for the camera.
Unfortunately I switched the focus on this one where Ethan is smiling and we get the focus on Jared's snarl.
We had a Heart Hunt...like Easter eggs but with heart shaped containers. :) Here they are all ready to go.
Trevor added to the entertainment with his guitar.
The other guys kept busy as well tearing apart the old picnic table.
We played Apples to Apples and kept quite entertained at the kids interpretation of words. :)
Teamwork was a must!
We facetimed with Aunt Rachel and Megan and Katherine. We can't wait to see them this summer!
I brought some little heart links that I had gotten and that my boys had no interest in.
Diana sure liked them though. :)
Because it was Mardi Gras weekend, a King Cake was a must.
It was one from a grocery store because we didn't plan ahead well enough, but it was a really good one anyway.
We also got to go swimming.
Ethan thinks it's very funny to splash.
Melanie made sure that I get at least some proof that I was actually there...even if it isn't the most flattering of pictures.
