The main attraction for The Great Wolf Lodge for me was, by far, the indoor waterpark. I love water slides, I love swimming, I love not getting sunburned. The boys take after me and still ask to go to the neighborhood pool frequently, so we were ready to go swim and we spent plenty of time in the waterpark having lots of wet fun.
We started off in the smaller kid area getting used to the idea of swimming again after a couple months off.
It was so great. The boys loved spraying each other and us.
Ethan and I raced on these slides several times and he always won. The first day I decided to be look geeky and wear goggles, but please don't judge the pictures for beauty. (This was completely a vacation. We only brought comfy clothes, I didn't bring makeup, and we took pictures even though we're all wet. We just had fun...lots and lots of fun.)
For the trip, I bought a rather inexpensive waterproof camera. It was great, but I could hardly keep the lens dry a minute.at a time so there are water spots everywhere. That's just the way the place is...wet! :)
These are from the lazy river.
Ethan tried to walk across these. He was just a bit too short to grab the rope.
He ended up in the water, but I was proud of him for trying.
Jared loved playing basketball.
We all just loved being in the water again!
The boys LOVED the wave pool! Jared didn't like us helping him and would jump into each wave as it came. He also loved going underwater each time a wave came and he just about gave me a heart attack, but he had so much fun.
We tried to be good sports and let the boys attack us.
Jared took the camera for a bit in the hotel room.
It was a true vacation...there was time for reading! :)
Then he asked me to take his picture. :)
Okay, back to the water...lots and lots of time in the wave pool.
Jared's curls crack me up when his hair is soaked.
Family fun at its best!
I wish I had realized that Jared was too short for the tube rides. He would have loved them. I LOVED them! :) Ethan liked them and was a good sport to accompany Alan and I in turn. :)
Here's a picture of a couple of the tube rides. I never actually took the camera in them, but trust me...they were awesome!
Here's Ethan clinging to the wall after his first run on this ride. It kind of cracked me up,
but then once he felt safe again, he decided he liked it.
We did everything again and again and got wet and wet and wet!
It was awesome!
