Our Family Vacation (the hotel part)

When we sat down to do New Years' Resolutions way back in January, my goal was for us to have a family vacation this year.  We always love to visit extended family and friends, but I wanted us to do something that was just us.  We tentatively planned a trip to The Great Wolf Lodge for Thanksgiving.  I am happy to say that it happened!  :)  And, it was GREAT!  I had to use two separate cameras since I wasn't going to bring my big camera anywhere near the waterpark.  In between/after swimming, we enjoyed hanging out in our room.  We played cards.

and watched TV when we were too worn out to do anything else.
The boys loved their "wolf den" and wanted to do everything there (including brush their teeth).

(Ethan was howling like a wolf.)

The boys earned money for souvenirs and had lots of fun picking out what they wanted.
They each got a light saber and a stuffed animal.
The Lodge had started setting up for their snow land theme that they have in December.

 This is Ethan's royal pose.
We went all over the lodge following two warriors who were determined to find and fight every bad guy they could imagine.

I loved this real-life gingerbread house.  You can donate money to a charity and eat in it.

The light sabers were the source of lots and lots of fun and also quite a few accidental brotherly injuries.
We played more games and had popcorn and a movie.

We got to visit the treat shop one evening...wow...so many treats!

And because Alan loves arcades and we had had as much chlorine as we could handle, we visited the arcade as well.
 We love air hockey!

We also used the kindle for reading stories.  (Jared got very tired of pictures.)
For more story time, we went to the clock tower story time.
There was an animated story in which these critters moved, talked, and sang.
Then they read a big book.  The boys enjoyed it.
We got up on Wednesday feeling very satisfied with our vacation and headed home...and got to stop at Braum's on our way home!  :)
