Before (a belated post)

Before Jared was born, we had a few days with my mom. One day we went to an apple orchard. We got to see some animals, pick some apples, and enjoyed some delicious fresh produce & apple cider donuts...DELICIOUS! We also got to play outside...which is always fun, but was extra fun with Grandma! We played hide-and-seek and every time Grandma found Ethan, she spun him around. He was THRILLED! Here Ethan asked her to help him climb like a squirrel. :)

She also brought some birthday gifts (Thanks Aunt Melanie & Aunt Elaine for the adorable BYU shirt he's wearing above!) that we enjoyed. She brought Thomas and James trains that Ethan loves to drive on his train track.

She also made a baby blanket for Jared (hooray...if it had been up to me, I'm sure the fabric would have sat in the basement for months!). Ethan made towers out of the thread spools and played with the fabric scraps. :)So, to end this rather-longer-than-expected post, let me just say that my mother is wonderful and I'm so glad she was here with us, and even though I didn't want to have all this time before, it was great!
