Happy late 4th of July!
Sometimes a holiday should be just that...a holiday, so we didn't do much and we loved it this year! Please don't get me wrong, I love our country! I did plenty of singing patriotic songs and reading national documents and watching American History specials on TV, but we didn't do the parade or the fireworks this year. We did, however, make sugar cookies in the form of stars and flags. Ethan helped and loved it...unfortunately the actual process was so involved and messy we didn't get "during" shots, but here's an after...our flour-covered child. :) (He's saying "Whoa!" by the way.)
Here's the attempt at a cute 4th picture with mom in blue and kid in red and white...this is the best one.
And lastly, aren't our cookies cute?! :)
(Yes, the frosting was too soft and I didn't dare put in enough coloring to make them truly red and blue, since I hate it when you can taste the coloring, but they were so much fun and very, very yummy!) And this one is just for fun...I know it's blurry, but I just had to share it!

Too often a holiday doesn't feel like a holiday because we cram it full of "fun." Good for you for enjoying your day together.
Good for you - way to spend the holiday! We had a little down time on the 4th, and it was so nice! And how fun to make cookies together. That Ethan is a cutie. :)
