Bird Feeders

We went to a park the other day that had lots of pine cones, so of course we had to bring some home and make bird feeders.  :)

Jared had to take a break and get a spoon to get a taste.  :)

Does anyone know about how to get birds to actually eat the seeds?  Should I have hung them where the birds could sit on branches to eat them?

When I fill up my bird feeders, it always seems to take 2-3 days for the birds to realize they're there. As far as making the feeder accessible, I don't know. Having a branch next to it might just encourage the squirrels. (And squirrels don't need encouragement.) But you may have a hard time enjoying the birds if they can't rest while they eat.

Cute :) We've had the same problem with the birdhouse Justin built. Maybe we need to combine forces :)
