Wasting Time

Jared had a cold and looked pretty pathetic the other day.  He'd set up this little spot to enjoy some iPod time.  I can't believe how well he can play the little Super Why game on that thing.  I don't let him do it much, but I am a serious softy for a sick kid.  My children might grow up liking being sick because they get a totally different mom then.  (I'm not trying to say I'm not usually nice...I hope I am...but I just go easy on the rules that I usually try very hard to be a stickler about.)

Anyway, I've been enjoying this puzzle that was incredibly difficult,

but I finished it!

This is not so much wasting time, but I feel worth posting.  Ethan has been very into having picnics.  He's done this several times lately.  He goes to the pantry or fridge and selects a few winners, carries them and the blanket outside, and invites me to a scene way too cute to pass up on.  This picture was taken during our 2 weeks of winter.  We're back to short sleeves.  The kids keep asking to go swimming.  I'm thinking we might still have some cool weather ahead, but who knows?!
His choices for this day were sugar snap peas, cheese slices and orange juice.  What a combo!
I also finally got all the Christmas stuff back into the attic and couldn't help but put out the first of the Valentine's stuff.  I love this holiday!  (I guess I pretty much love holidays, but really, who doesn't need to focus on love for a while!)  :)

CUTE chairs! We've been having extra screen time b/c of sick kids too. Though after a day of feeling like they'd "watched tv all day" I realized it had really only been 2 1/2 hours (usually the limit is 1) and 1 of those hours was a home movie, which is kinda just looking at pictures so I don't count the same, lol.

Impressive job on the puzzle. And I think I’m officially jealous of the picnics and outdoorsy stuff. We have reached frigid status here and I’m not enjoying it. And cute mantle as always :)
