A Trip to Louisiana

Ethan, Jared, and I got on a plane last week and went to Louisiana to visit family. I'm only posting a fraction of the pictures I'd really like to post and I know it's still a marathon post, BUT at least you're not stuck on the couch in front of a slide projector, right? :) Anyway, here's just a taste of our fun and the reasons why we were there.
People:
Grandma Newton & new niece DianaGrandma Joan & Grandpa Rendell
(Ethan told Grandma Joan that he would catch her if she went down the slide.)

Uncles Dean & Trevor(Since there was only one actual sword, Ethan had Uncle Dean use the duck as a sword and the smiley face as a shield.)Aunts Melanie & ElaineAunt Linda(I should also mention that most of the time Linda had a squirt gun to defend herself. Also, this was one of many, many squirt gun fights!)

Aunt Ellen & Uncle GreggFun things:
picnic at the park
(Ethan adores his Grandpa and had lots of fun racing around the park.)(Jared was having a hard time waiting for food. :) Yes, I let my baby chew on his shoe; these ones have never touched the ground, so I decided it was no big deal.)

canoeing at the beachChristmas in May
(We had a little Christmas celebration because Grandpa & Grandma Newton used to always come for Christmas, so my dad decided we'd better make it Christmas! We sang songs and had a present exchange. Ethan LOVED his bubble gun!)We also had to take advantage of a few yummy things while we were there.
donut deliciousnesssnow-conesWe also got some good seafood and got to spend time with one of my best friends but I didn't get pictures of that. (Sorry Jen! I'm so glad we got to hang out!) Dean & Jennie also blessed Diana which was very sweet, but I didn't get any photos on my camera of that either!
Thanks to everyone for so much fun in Louisiana!
(We also got to see a couple gators!)

How fun! And man - I must go to Louisiana now! I loved the comment at the beginning "at least you're not stuck on the couch watching a slide projector" - lol. I love all the pics. The more the better!
