Christmas

It's sad when Christmas is over. Each night since Christmas as it has gotten dark, Ethan has asked, "Can Santa come now?" :) Can you tell he had a nice Christmas? It's all thanks to wonderful family members...I looked at the pile of presents and decided he was already getting so much that I didn't even buy him gifts! I did fill the stockings (a job that I absolutely LOVE). Anyway, with no further rambling from me, here are the photos:

Kids Say (and Do) the Darndest Things

I was telling Jared he couldn't have something he wanted. Ethan decided to share some wisdom with his brother.

E: If she spoils you, you will grow up to be a not-so-good adult. I've never seen one, but I'm sure that they exist.

J: I'll help you Mom!

S: Thanks my Jared.

J: Well, I am your son. What good is a son if he doesn't help his mom?

(pause)

J:Well, I guess he could help his dad.

Jared came into my room while I was getting ready for church.

J: I really like your shirt. Really. I'll have to buy one of those for my wife.

(a little later...looking at the makeup on my counter)

That is a lot of girl stuff. Bye-bye!

J: I know my destiny!

S: Oh yeah, what is it?

J: To get a double doozie (cookie from Great American Cookie Company), but it's a destiny for today only, so we HAVE to do it today.

Jared tripped and hurt his knee.

He then turned to me and asked, "Can I walk on it?"

I responded, "You can walk, run, jump, and skip. You just might not want to kneel."

He then added, "Anything but kneel and teleport?"

J: I like to do that just like Dad does.

E: (with a sigh) Oh genetics!

J: Mom, you "teached" me and now I'm an even "perfecter" kid.

During preschool playtime the kids wanted me to be the store owner. Jared came up to my "shop" and asked, "Which items are on clearance today?"

J to S (after I had let him have a few coins from the change at the store): You are my best friend...because you love me and because you give me money.

Ethan loves to read the signs while we drive. We passed one place of business and he read, "Gold & Silver Buyers. We buy gold and silver and more."

E: They buy gold and silver and more? Would they buy a cricket?

A: Ethan...

E: It says "and more."

Ethan: "I have two things to tell you. One is that I love you. The other is that I can't go to sleep and I don't think I ever will be able to."

After being complimented on his hair over and over while trick-or-treating, Jared told Alan, "I am so glad I have this hair. It makes everybody happy."

Jared was lying down and when he laughed he snorted. He then said, "Mom, I just said 'oink'!"

J: I don't like these pajamas.

S: Did you know that some kids don't have more than one pair of pajamas?

J: Aaahh! Good thing I have lots of pairs for when they get dirty...otherwise we'd be DOOMED!

S: Jared, you have really dirty feet!

J: Really? Thanks!
